The weather couldn’t have been better on Friday, August 12, when PetAid hosted its annual golf tournament, Puttin' for PetAid, at Park Hill Golf Club. Seventy-two participants came to support us while enjoying some much-needed fun in the sun, and to compete for the coveted first prize spot and trophy. Former Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl made an appearance prior to registration, and fans were thrilled to have the opportunity to chat and take photos with the legendary coach.
A silent auction and dinner concluded the evening as exhausted players helped themselves to a full buffet of delicious entrees and desserts. PetAid’s CEO, Ralph Johnson, took the stage to talk about PetAid’s mission and to announce the champions of 2016’s Puttin’ for PetAid: the Banfield Pet Animal Hospital team, which included Dr. Ashley Barto, Steve Schade, Jon Kearsley, and Dr. Lonny Dredla. Well played, and congratulations, Banfield Pet Animal Hospital!
Proceeds will go a long way in helping pets in need throughout Colorado. As you know, PetAid works tirelessly to subsidize veterinary care for the state’s most vulnerable populations through three vital programs—the Animal Hospital, Care Grants, and Community Outreach. This lifesaving work is only made possible because of fundraising events like Puttin’ for PetAid, as well as generous donors who are able to join us in our goal of putting an end to unnecessary animal suffering and relinquishment. It was an unforgettable day of cheerful camaraderie as like-minded pet lovers came together to raise awareness for PetAid and its programs. We’d like to especially thank the event’s sponsor, Pet Cremation Services, on behalf of all of the underprivileged pets who depend on our care.
Wanted to attend, but couldn’t make it? You can still donate here to help support the great work of PetAid Colorado, and we hope to see you next year!
